What about Jesus?
The scriptures get some things right about Jesus, and many things wrong. Then the religious traditions take the scriptures and put their own twist on the situation, and we end up with a great many different interpretations of Jesus's life and mission.
Jesus was a symbol. Now don't get your knickers in a twist, because everything and everyone appearing in earth life is a symbol. Remember, only God is Reality. Earth life is illusion. But in the illusion, we have symbols that point to God and we have symbols that point to more illusions.
Jesus was a pure symbol of God, Heaven, Oneness, Reality, whatever word you want to apply to the Real.
Of course the other symbols that point the other direction (ego) were threatened by Jesus. (You can witness this same battle in your very own mind, each time you have a thought of oneness and unity, you will observe another thought slipping in to try to pull you back into separateness and individuation.) He was misunderstood, mistreated, and finally put to death.
But death itself is illusion. Creations of God are indestructible.
Jesus knew his True Identity. He is the Christ. The Son (Creation) of God (Creator). Because he knew this, he also knew that all power (real power) is his.
The mistake most Christians make is to believe in the divinity of Jesus but then to make him a special case. You are ALSO Christ. You are ALSO a Creation of God. You are ALSO part of the Oneness of Heaven.
Only problem is, you don't quite believe that yet. (Nor do I.)
Once we thoroughly are convinced of our True Identity, we don't have to appear as humans any longer.
